XM Cashback Not Showing? How to Check Your Account Is Linked
On CB-Dogs a trading account shows as Pending review, Approved, Rejected or Unlinked. Linking is usually confirmed within 24 hours (at most 2 business days); an approved account can still show no cashback for 3-4 weeks because the broker pays commission first, then a 7-day hold applies.

Disclosure: CB-Dogs receives an advertising (referral) fee — sometimes called an IB commission — from brokers for accounts opened or linked through us, and returns part of it to you as cashback, the same model used by cashback and points sites. This does not change your trading costs.
On this page
You opened an XM account, traded, and your CB-Dogs balance still shows nothing. There are two very different causes: the account is not linked, or it is linked and the cashback has simply not arrived yet. This guide shows how to tell which one it is and what to do.
Key takeaways
- Your accounts page shows one of four statuses: Pending review, Approved, Rejected or Unlinked.
- Linking is usually confirmed within 24 hours and at most 2 business days; a very new account can take a little longer to appear on the broker's side.
- Most rejections come from an account opened outside our link, the wrong number (profile ID instead of the MT4/MT5 number), or an email that does not match.
- An account opened elsewhere usually cannot be moved to a different partner. The fix is an additional XM account opened through our link.
- An Approved account can show no cashback for about 3-4 weeks after a trade, and some trades earn none at all.
Step 1: check the status on your accounts page
Log in to CB-Dogs and open Trading accounts. Each account you submitted has a status.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending review | We received the account and are confirming it. | Wait. Usually done within 24 hours, at most 2 business days. |
| Approved | The account is linked to CB-Dogs. | Cashback is credited after the broker pays; see step 3. |
| Rejected | We could not link it. A reason is shown. | Fix the cause below and submit again. |
| Unlinked | The account does not appear under CB-Dogs' partner account. | Open an additional account through our link. |
Right after you open a new XM account, it can take a little longer to appear on the broker's side, so a short wait is normal. You also get an email when a link is approved or when it cannot be linked.
Step 2: if it is Rejected or Unlinked
A rejection shows a reason. The three common ones:
1. The account is not under our link ("Not under CB-Dogs IB"). XM records which partner referred each account. Accounts opened before you found us, directly on XM's website, or through another site's link sit under someone else or under no partner. We pay cashback only from commission XM pays us, and in most cases an existing account cannot be moved to a different partner. Fix: open an additional XM account through our link, logging in to your existing XM profile from the page that opens, and submit the new account number. Your old account stays as it is. Full steps: how to open an additional XM account via CB-Dogs.
2. The account was not found ("Account not found"). The usual cause is a wrong number. Submit the MT4 or MT5 account number from the email XM sent with your trading login, not your XM profile (member) ID. Also check that you chose the right broker and account type, and that no digit is missing.
3. Email mismatch. The optional "broker-registered email" field helps us match the account. If it differs from the email registered at XM, we cannot confirm the account is yours. Enter the exact email you used at XM, or leave the field blank if you are unsure.
After fixing the cause, submit the right number again from your accounts page. If you think a rejection is a mistake, contact us with the account number and the date you opened it. To get the opening steps right the first time, see how to open an XM account and link cashback.
Step 3: Approved but no cashback yet
If the status is Approved, the link is fine. Cashback just takes time, because it comes out of the commission the broker pays the introducer:
- The broker confirms the commission. For XM this is typically about a week after the trade, followed by roughly a week of review before the broker pays the introducer.
- CB-Dogs credits your balance once the payment is received and confirmed.
- The credited amount shows as Pending (confirming) and becomes withdrawable after a 7-day hold for XM.
Overall, expect about 3-4 weeks from trade to withdrawable balance for XM. These are guides, not guarantees. The full breakdown is in when is forex cashback paid.
| Account type | Rebate / lot (USDT) |

| StandardSpread-based account, no commission. | 1.8 |
| MicroShown per micro lot (1,000 units), which is 1/100 of a standard lot, so the amount is 1/100 of the Standard amount. | 0.018(1 micro lot = 1,000 units) |

Step 4: trades that earn no cashback
If your account is Approved and a month has passed, check whether the trades count. XMTrading's publicly available partner terms do not count:
- trades lasting 5 minutes or less;
- trades closed with Close By or Multiple Close By;
- churning (trades made only to generate commission);
- trading on a no-deposit bonus (unless you deposit and trade with your own funds);
- accounts with chargebacks or refunds.
Also, when a bonus supports part of your required margin, commission is calculated in proportion to your own funds. Because CB-Dogs pays 60% of the commission XM actually pays, these cases reduce or remove cashback. Details are in XM trades excluded from cashback. Profit or loss does not matter; only eligible traded volume does.
Quick checklist
- Is the status Approved? If not, follow step 2.
- Did you submit the MT4/MT5 number, not the profile ID?
- Was the account opened through our link, or is it an additional account opened through it?
- Has it been less than about 3-4 weeks since the trade?
- Were the trades longer than 5 minutes, and not on a no-deposit bonus?
