Forex Rebate Referral Programs Explained: How CB-Dogs' Works

In the CB-Dogs referral program, you earn 10% of the IB commission received from the accounts of people you refer, paid in USDT (TRC20) from CB-Dogs' own share, so the friend's cashback is not reduced. It covers one level only, with no rewards on people your referrals refer.

Disclosure: CB-Dogs receives an advertising (referral) fee — sometimes called an IB commission — from brokers for accounts opened or linked through us, and returns part of it to you as cashback, the same model used by cashback and points sites. This does not change your trading costs.

A "refer a friend" offer is common at forex cashback sites. It sounds simple, but the details differ a lot from one provider to the next: who pays the reward, whether the friend's rebate gets smaller, how many levels the scheme goes down, and when the money can actually be withdrawn. This guide explains how referral programs of this kind generally work, what to check before you join one, and then exactly how the CB-Dogs referral program is built, based on the site's own terms and member area.

Key takeaways

  • A forex rebate referral program pays you a share of the commission a broker pays the cashback site for accounts you introduce.
  • At CB-Dogs the referrer earns 10% of the IB commission received from the referred person's linked accounts, for as long as those accounts trade.
  • The referred person's own cashback is not reduced: the referral reward comes out of CB-Dogs' share, not theirs.
  • It is one level only. You earn nothing on people your referrals refer.
  • Referral rewards are paid in USDT (TRC20) under the normal withdrawal rules, with an extra hold period on top of the cashback hold.
  • Referrers and the people they refer must both be eligible, and public promotion needs media registration first.

How a forex rebate referral program works in general

Brokers pay an advertising fee, usually called an Introducing Broker (IB) commission, to partners that bring them clients. A cashback site is such a partner and passes most of that fee back to its members as a rebate (see how forex rebates work). A referral program adds one more layer: a member who introduces another trader to the cashback site is paid a slice of the same stream of commission.

The money for the referral reward has to come from somewhere. In a well-designed program it comes from the site's own margin. In a poorly designed one it can come out of the new member's rebate, which means your friend quietly gets less because you referred them. That is the first thing to check, and it is covered below.

Referral rewards are usually tied to trading, not to sign-ups. If the people you refer never open a linked account or never trade, nothing is paid. A reward that is not linked to real trading volume should make you ask where the money comes from.

What to check before joining any referral program

If you are still choosing a provider, our guides on how to evaluate a forex cashback program and how to verify a cashback provider is legitimate cover the cashback side. Never pick a provider for its referral bonus alone: the base rebate and the payout reliability matter more over time.

How the CB-Dogs referral program works

These are the rules as written in the CB-Dogs terms and implemented in the member area.

The reward: 10% of the IB commission

The referrer's reward equals 10% of the IB commission CB-Dogs receives for trades on the referred person's linked accounts. It is calculated on the commission itself, not on the cashback. The 10% figure is a site setting that can change with advance notice, so check the affiliate program page for the current number.

Rewards continue for as long as the referred person keeps trading on their linked accounts, and both of you remain eligible members in good standing. There is no one-off bounty and no reward for a registration that never turns into linked trading.

The referred person's cashback is not reduced

This is the part many referral programs get wrong. At CB-Dogs, the referral reward is paid from CB-Dogs' own share. The person you refer receives the same cashback as any other member. The How it works page shows the referral reward being paid out of CB-Dogs' share, not subtracted from the member's cashback.

For reference, current cashback rates by account type are below. They apply to every member regardless of whether they came through a referral link.

Account typeRebate / lot (USDT)

MicroRebate is calculated per 100,000 units of micro-lot volume (i.e. the same per-lot rate as Standard, scaled to micro-lot size).9.0

ZeroCommission-based account. Rebate is paid in addition to the raw spread — commission you pay is unaffected.4.5

Provisional rate

One level only

Referral rewards cover one level. If you refer a member and that member refers someone else, you earn nothing on the second person. This is a deliberate design choice, to keep the program a simple referral arrangement and not a multi-level one.

Every registered member has a personal referral link on the Affiliate page of the member area, in the form /r/your-code. You can also add ?ref=your-code to any page of the site. When someone clicks your link, a cookie valid for 90 days is stored in their browser. If they register within that period, the registration is attributed to you. The attribution is decided when they sign up and generally cannot be changed afterward by the member.

The member area shows your link, the number of people you referred, and your total referral earnings. It does not show personal details of the people you referred.

Payout, hold period and withdrawal rules

Referral rewards are added to the same balance as cashback and paid out under the same rules:

  • Payment is in USDT on the TRC20 network only.
  • The minimum withdrawal is 10 USDT.
  • A withdrawal of 50 USDT or more is free. Below 50 USDT, a 3 USDT fee applies.
  • Rewards become withdrawable after a hold period. Cashback is first held for a confirmation period per broker. Referral rewards then wait a further 7 days on top of that (the current default, a site setting that can change with notice). Until then they show as pending.

For how the cashback timeline works in practice, see how often forex rebates pay out. If you have not set up a wallet yet, the wallet guide explains how to receive USDT on TRC20.

Rewards can be reversed

As with cashback, if the broker reverses or reduces the underlying commission, the matching referral reward can be adjusted. Self-referral and rule violations can lead to rewards being cancelled, including rewards already credited. See the full Affiliate Terms.

Rules for referrers

The program is open to registered members, but a few rules are firm.

  • Eligibility applies to both sides. You and the people you refer must live in a country we accept. Residents of Japan and of other restricted countries cannot sign up. Check the eligibility page before you invite anyone.
  • No promotion aimed at restricted countries. That includes geo-targeted ads and placements in media based in, or mainly aimed at, Japan or other excluded countries.
  • No spam. No unsolicited messages, comment spam or automated mass posting.
  • No misleading claims. Do not say "guaranteed profit" or "risk-free", and do not suggest cashback removes trading risk.
  • No self-referral. Referring yourself, accounts you control, or family or household members is not rewarded, and the system checks for it automatically.
  • Disclose your link. Say clearly that your links are affiliate links and that you earn a reward.
  • Register public media first. Telling a friend privately needs no registration. Publishing your link on a website, blog, video channel, forum, newsletter or social account requires registering that media in the member area and waiting for approval. Rewards from unregistered or unapproved media can be voided.
  • No brand bidding or lookalike names. Do not run search ads on the CB-Dogs name or a broker's trademark, or register domains or handles that imitate them.

The best use of the program is also the simplest: when a friend who trades forex asks how to lower their costs, you can share your link and explain honestly how it works, including the fact that you earn a reward. Do not encourage anyone to trade more than they can afford because of a rebate.

Should the referral reward matter to you?

For most members the referral reward is a small extra, not the reason to join. The base rebate, the broker's own costs and how reliably payouts arrive matter far more. Treat any referral income as variable: it depends on the trading volume of other people, which you do not control, and it can fall to zero if they stop trading.

You earn 10% of the IB commission CB-Dogs receives from the referred person's linked trading accounts, for as long as they trade. The 10% rate is a site setting and can change with advance notice; check the affiliate page for the current figure.

Summary

A referral program is only as good as its rules. At CB-Dogs, the referrer earns 10% of the IB commission from the referred person's linked accounts, the friend's cashback stays intact, only one level is paid, and rewards are withdrawn in USDT on TRC20 after a hold period.
