Forex Cashback Pending vs Available: Reading Your Balance

Pending (confirming) cashback is credited but still inside a confirmation hold; Available to withdraw is what you can request now. XM credits unlock 7 days after the report import, Exness takes about 2-3 weeks from trade, and referral earnings add 7 days.

By CB-Dogs Editorial5 min read

Disclosure: CB-Dogs receives an advertising (referral) fee — sometimes called an IB commission — from brokers for accounts opened or linked through us, and returns part of it to you as cashback, the same model used by cashback and points sites. This does not change your trading costs.

You opened your member page and see money under "Pending (confirming)" but less under "Available to withdraw". Is something wrong? Almost always, no. Pending cashback is credited cashback that is still inside a confirmation period. This guide is about reading your balance: what each label means, why the hold exists, and how to tell when a pending amount becomes withdrawable. For the end-to-end timing from trade to payout, see when is forex cashback paid.

Key takeaways

  • "Pending (confirming)" is cashback that has been credited but is still in its confirmation hold. "Available to withdraw" is what you can request right now.
  • XM credits become withdrawable 7 days after the broker report is imported (about 3-4 weeks from trade). Exness is about 2-3 weeks from trade.
  • The "Upcoming releases" list shows the date each part becomes withdrawable, so you do not have to guess.
  • Referral earnings unlock 7 days later than ordinary cashback, and changing your payout wallet pauses withdrawals for 24 hours.
  • Minimum withdrawal is 10 USDT. The fee is 3 USDT below 50 USDT and free at 50 USDT or more. We recommend withdrawing within 3 months of crediting.

What each label on your member page means

The dashboard uses these labels. They are shown here exactly as they appear.

LabelWhat it means
Available to withdrawCashback whose confirmation period has passed. You can request a withdrawal now, subject to the minimum.
Pending (confirming)Cashback already credited to you but still in its confirmation hold. It is yours, but not yet withdrawable.
Upcoming releasesA list under the pending amount. Each part shows "withdrawable on [date]", so you can see when it unlocks.
Pending withdrawalA withdrawal you have requested that has not yet been paid.
This month's cashbackCashback credited during the current month.
Total referral earningsWhat you have earned from the referral program, shown with its own release dates.

You can also download your history as a CSV from the member page, which is useful for checking credited amounts against your own trade records. Our guide to verifying your rebate volume from trade history shows how.

Why cashback goes through a pending stage

Cashback is not paid out of thin air. It is 60% of the IB commission the broker actually pays CB-Dogs for your account. Until the broker has paid and the report has been checked, there is a reason to hold back before releasing funds. The confirmation period exists for three practical reasons:

  • Broker reports. The broker reports and pays commission on its own cycle. CB-Dogs imports that report and reconciles it against your account before crediting. The pending stage is a short buffer after that import.
  • Reversals for excluded trades. Some trades do not earn IB commission, for example very short trades or trades that the broker's partner terms exclude. If a broker later removes commission for such trades, the matching cashback has to be adjusted. See which XM trades are excluded from cashback.
  • Chargebacks and refunds. Accounts affected by chargebacks or refunds can lose their commission. A hold reduces the chance that cashback has already left before such a correction arrives.

None of this means your cashback is at risk of being lost by default. It means the date it becomes withdrawable is set by a check, not by your trade date.

How long the hold lasts, by broker

Hold lengths are configured per broker and can change, so treat the figures as the current guide and rely on the dates on your own page.

BrokerWhen pending becomes withdrawableTypical time from trade
XM (XMTrading)7 days after the broker report is importedAbout 3-4 weeks
ExnessPer the Exness schedule shown on your pageAbout 2-3 weeks

These are guides, not guarantees. The exact date depends on where your trade falls in the broker's payment cycle. The broker's own timing is the part CB-Dogs does not control, which is explained in how often do forex rebates pay out.

Other holds that affect "Available to withdraw"

  • Referral earnings. If you refer others, you receive 10% of the total IB commission from their accounts, and their own cashback is not reduced. Referral earnings become withdrawable 7 days after the underlying cashback becomes withdrawable, and they appear with their own dates. See the referral program explained.
  • Wallet changes. If you change your USDT (TRC20) payout wallet in Settings, withdrawals are paused for 24 hours. This is a safety measure. Change the address before you need it.
  • Frozen balances. We recommend withdrawing cashback within 3 months of it being credited. A balance left unwithdrawn for longer may be frozen. This is not forfeiture: contact support and, once your account details are confirmed, it can be unfrozen.
  • Setup requirements. Your country of residence must be set in Settings to unlock linking and withdrawals, and a USDT (TRC20) wallet must be saved to withdraw.

Withdrawal rules once cashback is available

RuleCB-Dogs
Currency and networkUSDT on TRC20 (TRON) only
Minimum withdrawal10 USDT
Fee below 50 USDT3 USDT
Fee at 50 USDT or moreNone

If your available amount is just above 10 USDT, remember the fee: a 12 USDT request pays 3 USDT. Waiting until 50 USDT removes the fee, but do not wait past the 3 month recommendation. For wallet setup, see USDT forex rebates and how to set up a TRC20 wallet.

Worked example: one month, start to finish

The following is an example for illustration only. Dates and amounts are made up, and your own dates are shown on your member page. A trader in Thailand with an XM Standard account (example) closes 5 standard lots in the first week of a month.

Step (example)DateWhat your page shows
Trades closedOct 1-7Nothing yet. The broker has not paid.
Broker pays and report is importedAbout Oct 21Cashback credited. Example: 5 lots at 1.8 USDT per standard lot = 9 USDT, shown under Pending (confirming).
Upcoming releasesOct 21Lists 9 USDT as withdrawable on Oct 28.
Hold passesOct 289 USDT moves to Available to withdraw.
Request withdrawalAfter Oct 289 USDT is below the 10 USDT minimum, so the trader waits for more volume.

The 1.8 USDT per standard lot figure is the XMTrading Standard level at the time of writing. Rates can change, so check the current table on the XM page or in your calculator. The example shows two common surprises: cashback arrives weeks after the trade, and a small balance can sit below the minimum. Estimate your own volume with the cashback calculator.

What to check if your numbers look wrong

  1. Look at Upcoming releases first. Most "missing" money is simply pending, with a date.
  2. Check the broker. XM and Exness have different holds, and a trade near the end of a broker cycle waits longer.
  3. Check for excluded trades. Very short trades or bonus-supported trades may earn less or nothing.
  4. Compare your history. Use the CSV download and your broker statement together.
  5. Check your link status. An account that is Pending review, Rejected or Unlinked will not earn. Approved accounts do.
  6. Contact support with your account number and the period in question if the numbers still do not match.
